Work in Progress

Part of a work in progress. It's fun to get to use my watercolors on Hagar. Wouldn't I love to do a graphic novel about Hagar! The comic strip format doesn't give you the chance to develop character or story arcs. And I'd love to do 2 page spread battle scenes! Wouldn't that be fun? I actually have an outline for a sort of 7th Voyage of Sinbad graphic narrative.

Maybe someday!

YOUR MUSINGS HAVE FINALLY PROMPTED ME TO GATHER THE COURAGE TO CONTACT YOU. I HAVE BEEN A VORACIOUS READER OF HAGAR FOR MANY MANY YEARS AND HAVE ALWAYS COVETED THE IDEA OF APPROACHING YOU TO SEE IF YOU ARE AMENABLE TO THE IDEA OF PRODUCING A MANAGEMENT BOOK BASED ON THE WISDOM OF HAGAR - I HAVE TO SAY THAT THERE SO MUCH RELEVANT MATERIALS THAT COULD BE MOST FITTING. I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING LIKE THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE BUT MAYBE I HAVEN'T LOOKED HARD ENOUGH. I THINK SOMETHING SUCH AS THIS WOULD BE A GREAT SELLER. MY NAME IS DAVID RYAN FROM AUSTRALIA AND MY EMAIL IS djrttt@hotmail.com (ttt= trim taut and terrific like Hagar).

Beautiful work!

I would LOVE to see you do a Hagar graphic novel.
This drawing teases at a story that's just begging to be told.

Having just finished reading the pocketbook "HAGAR the HORRIBLE - Ol' Blue Eyes Is Back!" I found myself musing about wanting to see some sort of extension of the character in a long format or graphic novel. I thought I would then search the web for more information on HAGAR and I am glad I came across your blog. I agree he has the potential to be developed further and would love to see that happen!
Your dad created a great character here!
