“I’ve just discovered Chris Browne’s new blog. It’s crammed with good stuff—stories of his life, terrific paintings of commonplace objects and new cartoons. It shows other sides of Chris than his Hagar the Horrible work.”—senior editor, Sarasota Magazine, Robert Plunket.

Poor wandering one
This poor, dear little bird flew into our window today. He lived only a short time...
I called my vet, then the Humane Society, then Animal Control looking for someone who could help him. Although to late for this little creature I did speak to a good soul at the Great Plains Zoo who told me that Dr. Dayton Williams here in town will care for a wounded bird. Good to know!
"Poor wand'ring one!
Though thou hast surely strayed,
Take heart of grace,
Thy steps retrace,
Poor wand'ring one!"
Mabel, in The Pirates Of Penzance
"Now cracks a noble heart.
Good night, sweet prince,
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
Horatio, in the finale of Hamlet

aw sheesh, it sucks when that happens. It's been a long time since a bird hit a window but I still remember how horrifying and sad it was. As it is I am trying not to run over lizards every day. I try and explain that behind the wheels of the parked car is NOT the ideal vacation spot for a lizard..sheesh. You should see the great pains my husband and I go through to avoid running over a lizard! Everything from on our hands and knees to check under the car before moving it, splashing our bottled water on the drive to chase them along before the car comes and of course veering crazily to the side of the drive and parking until Mr.Lizard finishes his manly display of lizard pushups and moves along in a huff. Sorry about the bird.
Hi Tace! Thanks! I can never find an e-mail address for you! If you care to share it zap it to my chrisbrowne2@gmail.com address and I'll write back. I too am pro-lizard!

so sad. nice little tribute sketch.
Thank you for your kind words! Rebecca, I went to your webpage at http://artpaw.com/ and your artwork is really fun and cool! It's a lucky dog who gets his portrait made by you. Best, Chris Browne
