“I’ve just discovered Chris Browne’s new blog. It’s crammed with good stuff—stories of his life, terrific paintings of commonplace objects and new cartoons. It shows other sides of Chris than his Hagar the Horrible work.”—senior editor, Sarasota Magazine, Robert Plunket.

Building A Mystery
I stumbled on this illustration of my friend, mystery writer and martial arts cimena maven Richard Meyers, as Edgar Allan Poe. I hardly ever get to do pen and ink work nowadays and this was a treat to do. I also loved putting in all the little Will Elder/Harvey Kurtzman mini gags. Remember all those little tiny gags in the original MAD Magazine? I loved that stuff! CLICK ON the artwork to see a more detailed version!
Ric is one of my oldest, dearest friends and is acting as my agent on a new book project I just finished (which I can't talk about yet, but it's a lot of fun!)
