“I’ve just discovered Chris Browne’s new blog. It’s crammed with good stuff—stories of his life, terrific paintings of commonplace objects and new cartoons. It shows other sides of Chris than his Hagar the Horrible work.”—senior editor, Sarasota Magazine, Robert Plunket.

Saline bottle
I've started painting lately, inspired by the work of Duane Keiser.
He's just amazing. His little paintings of everyday things are like perfect little mandalas! Mine, not so much so! But, I'm having fun. Last night I sat on the edge of my bed painting this little picture of a bottle of Ocean saline solution on the bedside table.
Books on creating art tell you about selling the rights to an image as opposed to selling the actual original artwork. Both have value. But, there is a third measure of value when an artist creates something. It's the serenity that the artist connects with when he or she is in the act of creation. It's a part of a work that can't be sold. And it can't be taken from you.
